AOS

The progressive dues structure is as follows:

 


To submit membership dues, log-in to your AOS online account.


Student member: $25/year

 

Member category I (income < $45,000/year): $45/year *

 

Member category II (income $45,000–$75,000/year): $65/year *

 

Member category III (income $75,000–$100,000): $95/year

 

Member category IV (income > $100,000): $125/year

 

Life membership (20x category IV): $2,500/one-time payment

 

Retired member: $50/year

 

Family Membership: $100/year *

 

* Membership categories that have only electronic access to JAOS; the print volume can be purchased for an additional $20/year (international members should add an extra $30 for postage).

NOTE: Members who submit membership dues after their membership has expired are sur-charged an additional $30.00.

 

For the membership categories that receive the printed issues as part of the membership, there is an option to decline and receive only electronic access. Please notify the AOS office if you do not want the paper copy. For members residing outside of the US, an additional $30 will be added to the dues payment for postage of the printed issues.

 

To submit membership dues by post, please download, fill in, print out, and return the 2025 Dues & Meeting Registration Payment Form to the AOS address on the form.

 

Annual membership dues must be paid before January first of each year and apply to the next year. Membership is annual and is calendar-year based (Jan-Dec). A late payment fee is of $25.00 is added to dues payments submitted after membership expiry date (12/31).

NOTE: The following codes, which seem to be self-evident, refer to the AREAS and FIELDS of specialization in AOS membership:

The abbreviations for Section Areas are: 
ANE, EA, IA, INE, SSE (ANCIENT NEAR EAST, EAST ASIA, INNER AISA, ISLAMIC NEAR EAST, SOUTH & SOUTHEAST ASIA)

The usual abbreviations for Fields are: 
HIS, REL, L&L, LAW, ECO, SOC, A&A, etc. (HISTORY, RELIGION, LANGUAGE & LNGUISTICS, SOCIOLOGY, ART & ARCHAEOLOGY, etc.)
